Tim Kopp

As chief marketing officer, Tim Kopp is responsible for all aspects of ExactTarget’s marketing worldwide, including branding, interactive, field marketing, corporate communications, advertising, thought leadership and leading strategic partnerships with global technology leaders including Microsoft, Salesforce and Adobe. As the company’s senior brand advocate for nearly five years, Tim has led the transformation of the company’s marketing, pioneering the concept of ‘marketing from the inside out’ – an initiative that infuses the company’s energetic corporate culture in every interaction and communication with clients, partners and team members around the globe.

Prior to joining ExactTarget, Tim served as Chief Marketing Officer for WebTrends and as a member of the company’s Board of Directors. While at Webtrends, Tim led the process of reinventing the brand and moving from a single product company to full marketing platform.

Tim is a veteran interactive marketing leader with deep expertise in both business and consumer marketing. From 2005 to 2007, Tim served as Vice-President of Worldwide Interactive Marketing for the Coca-Cola Company. While at Coke, he led the successful re-launch of Coca-cola.com and pioneered a global technology platform that served as a catalyst for the company’s next generation of marketing. Prior to leading Coca-Cola’s interactive marketing efforts, Tim was one of the founding members of Procter and Gamble’s Interactive Marketing program. From 1998 to 2007, Tim developed and ultimately led the entire Interactive Marketing Organization for Procter and Gamble’s Beauty Care division, achieving approximately $17 Billion in annual sales.

Tim received his undergraduate degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA with a concentration in Information Technology from the University of Dayton. He serves on the Board of Directors for the U.S. Mobile Marketing Association and the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Indiana. Tim has earned numerous awards and accolades for his leadership, including being named a finalist for CMO of the Year by Chief Marketing Officer Institute, one of Indiana’s Best and Brightest by Junior Achievement and ’40 under 40’ by the Indianapolis Business Journal.

Tim is the Chairman and Founder of ShareThis. Prior to founding ShareThis, Tim was Director with Blue Chip Venture Company, where he led the firm’s investment in marketing and technology leaders such as Advertising.com (AOL/TW), Nielsen Buzzmetrics (Nielsen) and Third Screen Media (AOL/TW). Prior to Blue Chip, he was an entrepreneur and international consultant leading innovative projects for Apple Computer, Hitachi, Hallmark Cards, Motorola and Procter & Gamble. Tim received his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Case Western Reserve University.@schigel


Stephen Surman

Stephen has spent 14 years leading the digital marketing programs for some of the world’s largest consumer goods brands. As former Vice President of Digital Strategy for Anheuser-Busch, Stephen was responsible for setting direction and developing marketing plans to support the company’s U.S. portfolio, including Budweiser and Bud Light. Previously, Stephen led digital marketing for Procter & Gamble’s Baby & Toddler Care and Feminine Care divisions, where he had responsibility for brands like Pampers, Tampax, and others.

Stephen is a graduate of Cornell University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He also holds a master’s degree in computer science from Northern Kentucky University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. @stephensurman
